the redhead

Hair_copy

ah, the color red

a color that lies close to my heart, or rather my head...

carrot top, ginger, auburn, red, all of these words have been used to describe my hair

as a child I hated it, as an adult, well I've learned to live with it, it still amuses me that the majority of colors in the hair dye aisle fall within my natural range of color, when all I have ever wanted was dark hair, black even. Anything but freckled, fair skinned and red hair. People have impressions of how they think you are when you are a redhead, stereotypes abound, and when you don't fit those stereotypes they can feel suffocating. So I do accept my red hair, for what it means to me, for how it represents me as an individual. Besides, it is lovely to look at in the light.

:) its funny because for years and years i dyed my hair that exact shade (or at least the shade that shows up on my computer screen) because i love love love red hair. i've since gone to my natural brown streaked mess but every fall, i still think about adding that beautiful colour ...

a lovely self-portrait :)

pretty hair :)

ooooh, i'd pay good money to have hair that color...i've actually dyed mine several times but it's so high maintenance...it's lovely...

beautiful, and i've always wanted to be a redhead....

:)

I'm one of the ones who goes red by choice, so I'm a bit envious of your natural color! The photo is beautiful.

i think your hair is beautiful. i understand wanting something different though. my hair is curly and i straighten it all the time. great photo!

i fell in love with red hair first because my mother is a red head. then i fell in love with it even more after i watched Anne of Green Gables. now i just know it is my favorite hair color of all time.

i might even go a little red for Christmas.

but YOU...you are such a beautiful red head.

I love your glorious red hair.
Beautiful you
XOXOXO

beautiful you with your gorgeous hair.

the line about suffocating in the stereotypes in which you do not fit. hmmm. it is so interesting to me how we all can fall into this idea in some part of our lives, yet we might have a hard time seeing it in someone else's life. a shift in thinking for me today (thank you).

Love this photo!

Amy~ I have spent the better part of tonight reading through all of your archives. I found you a few months ago, but tonight, I REALLY found you..delved in. You are amazing and inspiring and just a beautiful soul. And so, a first hello to you.

Your natural red hair is beautiful, as are you.

I saw a sweet little girl, probably about two, with the most gorgeous long red hair, wearing a little pink frock and pink crocs! I should have taken a picture! I think you are the luckiest person alive to be a natural redhead... I am so envious...:)

I Wish I Could Love My Red/Ginger Hair .. And I Wish Everyone Else Loved My Hair (like boys) But They Don't -- Your Hair Is Gorgeous !! Glad You Like It Now !! x
